Bridal Hair & Makeup at Boatwerks Waterfront

A courtyard on Lake Macatawa and a dressing room built for the morning.

Five vanities, brick
walls and the lake
outside. We bring
the rest.

Quinn Vise Hair Design & Co. has been getting West Michigan wedding parties ready since 2014. At Boatwerks, your party gets ready with us in the Ladies Dressing Room, or starts the day in our private bridal suite in the Baker Building, a few minutes up the road.

The Ladies
Dressing Room

The dressing room seats fifteen at five vanities, which suits a full party with room to spare. We add our own lighting so the makeup you see in the mirror is the makeup your photographer sees outside. When the party is larger than the room, the first chairs run in our suite and everyone finishes at Boatwerks together.

Built for the
Courtyard

An outdoor ceremony on the water means wind, bright reflected light and a long evening in the Black River Ballroom. Styles are pinned for the breeze and set for humidity. Makeup is applied by hand, set for the sun off the lake, and still holding when the last photographs are taken at dusk.

Questions Brides Ask

Is the dressing room large enough for our whole party?

It seats fifteen. For larger parties, part of the group starts in our suite and finishes at Boatwerks.

What if the weather turns?

Boatwerks moves ceremonies indoors, and we set every style to hold either way.

Is there a travel charge?

When we come to you, travel appears as a single line on your proposal.

A large crowd of people dancing on a waterfront deck at sunset, with a white canopy tent, string lights, and water in the background.

How it Works

1. Inquire.

Date, venue, party size. Two minutes.

2. Hear from Madison.

Our bridal coordinator replies with a proposal and holds your date with a retainer.

3. Trial.

In the salon, with the artist who will style you on the day.

4. The day.

A printed timeline for every person in the party, so nobody asks what time they're due.

If you don't love what you leave with, tell us within seven days. If you come back, we make it right, and there's no charge and no argument.

It's the whole reason we do trials.

Your date is confirmed and held by a $300 non-refundable retainer.
