Married at Baker Lofts

We are in
the building.

Quinn Vise Hair Design & Co. has been inside the Baker Building since 2014 — the same building as Baker Lofts. Your morning doesn't involve a car, a drive, or the weather. It involves a hallway. And when the photographs are finished and your lipstick needs one more pass, you walk back down it.

What a hallway is actually worth

Every bridal team can tell you they'll show up on time. Here is what it means that we never have to.

The Weather Stops Mattering.

Wind, a light rain, the kind of grey July morning that makes everyone check their phone — none of it touches your hair or your makeup, because none of it touches you. Nobody carries a garment bag across a parking lot. Your dresses are steamed once and hang in one place until you put them on.

You can leave, and you can come back.

This is the part brides don't know to ask for.

Your curls are setting, and the flowers have just arrived — go down the hall and look at your table arrangements, then walk back and sit down for makeup. Nothing is lost.

And when the photographs are finished, when the lipstick has been through a first look and a receiving line and three hours of July, you can come back to us. A fresh pass. Two curls reset. Five minutes.

That is not something a team that packed up and drove home two hours ago can offer you.

Everyone has somewhere to be.

The building is enormous, and that turns out to matter more than anyone expects.

An aunt and uncle who arrive an hour early don't have to sit in your getting-ready room. There's space for them to relax and be ready the moment your photographer wants family portraits — and you still have a room that is yours.

Your sister with a newborn has the privacy of the bridal suite while the rest of the party is somewhere else entirely. There are multiple bathrooms. Nobody is queuing, and nobody is in anybody's way.

If you forget something, it's on a shelf.

Hairspray, pins, the product your stylist used that you now want to take home. Steps away, not a drive away.

Two people whose only job is your morning.

Madison is our dedicated bridal coordinator. She holds your timeline from your first message through your ceremony.

Michelle is your day-of bridal assistant. She's in the building, running the room, while the artists do the work.

Most salons ask a stylist to do both of those jobs while also doing your hair.

One more thing, and it's the reason all of the above is possible: we're an independent salon that happens to share this building, which means we aren't bound by the venue's hours. Bridal parties regularly start with us before Baker opens. That's arranged in advance with Madison and written into your agreement.

There is no cap on your party.

Most bridal teams publish a maximum party size, usually somewhere between eight and sixteen. We don't publish one, because we don't have one.

Twelve stations and a full bridal team means the limit is your date, not your guest list.

Here's what that actually buys you. When a small team takes a large party, the morning becomes a queue — one chair, one artist, everyone waiting their turn, and a schedule that gets tighter with every minute somebody runs long. When several artists work at once, the same party finishes in a
fraction of the time, and nobody spends four hours waiting to be told where to sit.

A large bridal party at QVD is a slower, easier morning. Not a longer one.

How many artists we can put on your date depends on the date itself, which is the first thing Madison checks when you write to us.

The bigger your party, the more this matters.

Two rooms,
not one.

Baker has its own designated getting-ready space for couples who book the venue. We have our own private bridal suite inside the salon.

If you've rented Baker Events and chosen us for hair and makeup, you have both — and that's the version of this day we'd want for you. Room to spread out, somewhere to step away from the noise, and the ability to move between the two without anyone getting in a car.

We bring the stations, the lighting, the steamer, and the mirrors. You bring the playlist.

Mimosas and a food flight are standard, not an upgrade. Nobody should be doing this on an empty stomach at seven in the morning.

Your party is quoted on the Baker Lofts menu. No drive time, no travel fee. Choose Baker Lofts on your inquiry, and it's applied before your quote reaches you.

What the morning
actually looks like

The question underneath “how long does this take?” is almost always “will we be late?” This is a real shape for a party of eight — yours will be built to your ceremony time, but this is how the morning is put together so you aren't rushed.

8:00 AM

We're set up before anyone arrives. Coffee, mimosas, and the food flight are out.

8:15 AM

Your party begins — hair and makeup running at the same time, across as many stations as your date allows.

10:30 AM

First finishers get their touch-ups now, not at the end.

12:30 PM

Second half of the party in the chairs.

1:30 PM

Bride begins. Hair, then makeup.

3:00 PM

Bride finished. Veil placed, photographed, adjusted — with time to change it if it isn't right.

3:15 PM

Final pass on everyone. Lipstick, curls, anything that's dropped.

3:30 PM

We step out. The room is yours.

4:00 PM

Ceremony begins.

The bride goes last on purpose. She should be the freshest person in the room when the doors open.

Madison builds your actual timeline around your ceremony time, your photographer's first-look window, and how many people are getting ready. She does this every week. It's the reason brides mention her by name in our reviews more often than anything else about us.

The Night Before

Your party is already in town. The salon is closed to the public on Monday and Tuesday evenings — which means we can open it just for you.

Four pedicure thrones and four nail tables, so eight people are done at once rather than one after another. Champagne, a food flight, the room to yourselves, and something from our shelf to take home.

Minimum of four guests. Same building as your ceremony.

The QVD Promise

If you don't love it,
we make it right.

If you don't love what you leave with, tell us within seven days. If you come back, we make it right, and there's no charge and no argument.

It's the whole reason we do trials.

Your date is confirmed and held by a $300 non-refundable retainer.

Your Artists

Every artist on our bridal team is a licensed Michigan cosmetologist and a graduate of our in-house Master's Program. You meet yours at the trial, and that same artist is the one who does your hair on the day.

Madison coordinates every wedding we take. She answers your first message, holds your timeline, and knows where everyone is supposed to be at 9:40 on a Saturday morning.

Michelle runs the room the day of.

Questions Brides Actually Ask

Do we have to travel to you for the trial?

No. Your trial happens in the salon — the same building you'll get married in, with the same artist and the same light.

How early can you start?

Earlier than most teams can, and often before the venue itself opens. We're an independent salon in the building rather than the venue's in-house team, so we aren't tied to Baker's hours. Start times are arranged in advance with Madison and written into your agreement.

Is there a travel fee?

Not at Baker Lofts. There's no travel.

How large a party can you take?

We don't publish a maximum, because we don't have one. Twelve stations and a full bridal team mean what's possible depends on your date. Send us the date, and we'll tell you.

What if something needs fixing after you've finished?

Text us. We're in the building.

Do you do makeup or just hair?

Both, by different artists working at the same time. That's what keeps the morning moving.

Do we have to book Baker to book you?

No. We take weddings all over West Michigan. But if you've booked Baker Events and chosen us, you get both getting-ready spaces and no travel fee — and that's the easiest version of this day.

What holds our date?

Your date is confirmed and held by a $300 non-refundable retainer.

Check Your Date

Send us your wedding date and how many people are getting ready. Madison answers every inquiry herself, usually the same day.
